Prof. Anne Anderson, csj
President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of St Michael's College
The appointment of Professor Anne Anderson, C.S.J., as sixth President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of St Michael's College, was recommended by the Collegium at a Special Meeting held on January 12, 2009 and confirmed by The Reverend Ken Decker, C.S.B., The Superior General of the Basilian Congregation. Professor Anderson's five year term as President was effective retroactively to July, 2008 when she assumed responsibility for the office. Professor Anderson served the University as Interim President since July 2008, in addition to her duties as the Dean of the Faculty of Theology. Professor Anderson had been appointed Dean of the Faculty of Theology at the University in 2001 and re-appointed in 2006.
A member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Hamilton, Professor Anderson is President and Chair of the Board of Directors of the St. Joseph's Health System in Hamilton. Previously she was President of the Catholic Health Association of Ontario. She is currently Chair of the Pastoral Theology Department in the Toronto School of Theology, and immediate Past Chair of the Commission on Accrediting for the Association of Theological Schools in Canada and the United States.
