Making a Gift: Legacy Giving

Giving for the Future: Bequests

A bequest is a written intention naming the University of St Michael’s College as a beneficiary when constructing or re-visiting a will.
A bequest is a tax-effective means of supporting St Michael’s College. You retain the use of your assets during your lifetime and your estate may claim gifts in the year of death equal to 100 per cent of your net income in that year and the preceding year.

St Michael’s College is pleased to assist you and your legal counsel by providing customized bequest wording to ensure the university can accept your gift as you intend. Download Sample Bequest Wording. Please use the legal name "University of St Michael’s College" in your bequest clause.
