John M. Kelly Library Book and Media Studies Collections

The Kelly Library has one of the best collections on the St. George Campus for undergraduate studies on the role of printing, books and reading in cultures past and present. The library should be the first-stop for students in the Book and Media Studies Program. We purchase the most important current English-language scholarship. Additional support may be found in the collections of Robarts Library, the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library, the Robertson Davies Library at Massey College, the Centre for 19th Century French Studies, the Library of the Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies, the Centre for Reformation and Renaissance Studies, and the Department of Art Library.The Kelly Library has an excellent collection of DVDs which support Book and Media Studies. We purchase documentaries on book history and media studies, as well as movies of related interest.

Kelly Library librarians have prepared a Research Guide to Book and Printing History which lists the most important encyclopedias and dictionaries with which every student should be familiar.
