Christianity and Culture Collections

We purchase the most important current English-language scholarship. Robarts Library has a superior collection of non-English language materials.

Check out some of our most recent purchases about the relationship between the Church and the world or about Christian art.

The Kelly Library has an excellent collection of DVDs which support study of the interaction between Christianity and society. We purchase documentaries on the Bible, Eastern Christianity, ecotheology, the papacy, social justice, and spirituality - as well as many other Christian topics. Our extensive collection of movies includes many which relate to Christianity. Check out our lists of Bible on Film, Nuns on Film, Priests on Film, and Saints on Film.

Through the University of Toronto Libraries, students have access to a wide range of electronic reference resources on Christianity.

Kelly Library librarians have prepared numerous research guides for the study of Christianity. Basic Reference Sources for Graduate Theology lists the most important encyclopedias and dictionaries with which every student of Christianity should be familiar. We also have research guides to the Bible, bioethics, Catholic liturgy, Catholic spirituality, Christian music, Christianity and film, Christianity and the visual arts, church history, Eastern Christianity, patristics, systematic theology, and Vatican II.
