Career Networking Event

Event Information

The Third Annual Career Networking Event is designed to provide a platform for St Michael's College students to interact and network with Alumni professionals employed in various companies and industries. It offers students a wonderful opportunity to build networking skills and meet prominent St Mike's alumni from the following fields: Law, Media, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Medicine, Politics, and Graduate School & Education. Students will also learn the tools necessary for a successful career.

Event Format

  • Two different Round Table Interaction Sessions
  • Mix and Mingle General Networking Session
  • Light Refreshments will be served.
  • No resumes, but feel free to bring business cards.

Registration

Registration for the Third Annual Career Networking Event is required. Registration begins Monday, January 14, 2013.

Space is limited so register early. Register for each session separately. You will receive confirmation emails for registering for each different session. If you inadvertently sign up for more than once in a particular session, only your first choice will be considered.

Law: The Honourable Justice Frank Marrocco, Superior Court

Entrepreneurship: Mark Palma, Manager of Enterprise Solutions for OneConnect, a Toronto-based telecommunications company

Medical/Healthcare/Life Sciences:Dr. Andy Smith, Vice President of Cancer Care Ontario

Registration

Students will have pre-registered for 2 Round Table Interaction sessions (first come-first serve basis).

6:00 - 6:05 pm

Event Introduction

6:05 - 6:34 pm

Session One:
Round Table Discussion

Each Round Table focuses on one career. The Round Table will be composed of 1 Alumni Guest and 7-9 students. Alumni Guests will lead the discussions.

6:35 - 7:04 pm

Session Two:
Round Table Discussion

Students move to their next assigned Round Table. Alumni Guests stay in their assigned Round Table and lead the discussions with the next group of students.

7:05 - 8:00 pm

Mix and Mingle
Networking Reception

Students network and "mix and mingle" with Alumni Guests moving from Table to Table. Refreshments will be available during this session.
