Members of St Mike's Community Receive Papal Honours

Four members of the St Michael's community received Papal Honours at a ceremony at St Michael’s Cathedral in Toronto June 20, 2006.

Mrs. Vicki Garnett received The Cross Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice for her outstanding service as Executive Assistant to Cardinal Carter and most recently as Executive Assistant to the President of the USMC.

Professor Janine Langan was made a Lady of St. Sylvester for her contributions as the founding Coordinator of the Christianity and Culture program at St Michael's and as a faculty member at St. Augustine's Seminary.

Professor Thomas Langan was made a Knight of St. Sylvester for his record as a Catholic educator and for his leadership in the Catholic Civil Rights League. Professor Langan was cross-appointed to St Michael's from 1978 until his retirement in 1994, and was a member of the philosophy group here.

Mr. Augustine Michael Arrigo was made a Knight of St. Sylvester for his leadership and dedication as Lieutenant of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. Mr. Arrigo is a generous and loyal supporter of St Michael's.

The entire St Michael's community extends its warmest congratulations to all.
