Three evenings of lecture and Discussion - April 27 May 11, 2010

"Mining the Riches of the Christian Tradition: Mysticism in Everyday Life"

Christian mystics, as exemplified in the life and work of Mary Ward, attest to the fact that the gift of union with God can be searched for and found, whoever and whatever we are. Mysticism involves sight, the new vision that comes from recognition of the divine in our midst and expressed in the transforming love of God and neighbour. Today, we are called to be prophetic, to adapt the heritage of the past to the needs of a new season. This three part series willinvite participants to become more attentive to their own spiritual journey in the context of the journey and prophetic message of Mary Ward (1585-1645).
April 27: "Looking Back" - The Message in 1609
May 4: "Living the Experience" - The Work of the Institute
May 11: "Looking Ahead" - The Message today -- Mary Ward's vision for the future.

Facilitator: Sr. Jeanne Cover, IBVM
Cost: $20/evening - $50 for the series
