Artist-in-Residence Paul Durcan Visits

TORONTO, November 20, 2009 -- Celtic Studies welcomed this year's Artist-in-Residence, the award-winning Irish poet Paul Durcan, who spent the month of October in Toronto. He gave public readings, talked to students in our classes, and met with students and others individually to discuss their work. He also read at York University, Victoria College, Cobourg Poetry group, the Ottawa Authors Festival, and he concluded his visit by reading at the International Festival of Authors at Harbourfront. His latest collection of poems, Life is a Dream: 40 Years Reading Poems 1967-2007, has just been published and we were delighted to be able to have it available at the various events.
