It's Cool to Stay in School: St. Mike's Program Reaches Out to Teens
"Most days on campus I have to pinch myself so that I know I'm not dreaming." That's how Susan Martin feels about her job with high school students in the Transitions program at St. Michael's College, a college whose history of social and intellectual outreach dates back to the 1930s. The U of T alumna, a teacher from J. Clark Richardson Collegiate, a public school in Ajax, spearheaded the school's Transitions program, which helped students at risk of dropping out of high school to complete their credits on a post-secondary campus. She was the first member of her family to go to university and is thrilled about U of T opening its doors to others like her.

The Collegium of the University of St. Michael's College is delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Anne Anderson, C.S.J. as President and Vice Chancellor of the University. Her appointment was recommended by the Collegium at a Special Meeting held on January 12, 2009 and confirmed by The Reverend Ken Decker, C.S.B., The Superior General of the Basilian Congregation.

03 12 08 | SMC UofT Hockey Champions!
With their 4-2 victory over UTM (Mississauga) on December 3, SMCs Div. 1 Ice Hockey team has won their fifth consecutive intramural championship! The victory avenges a heartbreaking loss to UTM earlier in the season in which our team allowed two goals in the last minute of play to tarnish an otherwise undefeated season. This time SMC came to ready to play and spent most of the game relentlessly pressuring UTM in their own end. Honourable mention goes to Ryan Hamilton, Tim Corcoran and Rob Wighton who all scored goals in the contest and hearty congratulations to the rest of the players for bringing home yet another championship to SMC!

"Turning the Wheel: Henri Nouwen and Our Search for God." Jonathan Bengtson and Gabrielle Earnshaw, editors. Toronto: Novalis, c2007, has won a First Place Award (Pastoral Ministry) from the Catholic Press Association. This award is not only a great tribute to Henri Nouwen, but also a wonderful recognition of the work of the University in supporting the Nouwen archives.
