St Michael’s Residence is the oldest residential community at U of T. Founded in 1852 by the Basilian Fathers, a congregation of Catholic priests, St Michael's has been serving the needs of students from all backgrounds for over 150 years. Our residents come from all over the world and study in a variety of disciplines, at many different academic levels. Situated on the eastern side of the St. George campus, our residence buildings are located in the center of the college's spacious and beautiful grounds. St Mike's is central to all subway lines as well as historic Yonge Street, Bloor St. and Yorkville. The college campus is steps away from Toronto's best shops, cafes, and restaurants.
St Michael's provides accommodation for over 500 students within 5 buildings that range from older Victorian-style homes to larger, modern structures. We offer both single-sex and co-ed dormitories; each floor in our residence buildings are single sex while some of the buildings are co-ed. SMC's all you-can-eat meal plan in Brennan Hall's Canada Room offers halal and vegetarian choices.
At St. Michael's College students will create memories and friendships to last a lifetime. Competitive athletic teams, the monthly Kellys Korner talent nights in the Coop, our massive student council parties (the best at U of T), giving back to the community, or simply spending time with other residents provide ways to make new friends and to get involved in campus life.
St Mikes is rich in tradition. From award winning instructors, competitive athletic programs, and a dedication to social justice through our Campus Ministry office, St Mikes is committed to preparing students for the challenges that await them in the real world. Other benefits include the largest college library and computer commons at UofT, a fully equipped weight room, world renowned alumni, and a friendly student council that is committed to making your university years memorable.
