Description:

For 20 years Association Rondine in Italy has been working for peace, developing an original training program for young people coming from different cultures or from countries in conflict areas. The program teaches participants to understand their own conflict and accept to live with their own enemy. During a two-year experience, participants deconstruct the idea of the enemy and work actively to develop projects with social, political and economic impact contributing to a peaceful development in their own countries and in the world.

The performance "Dissonanze in Accordo" will introduce the work of Rondine to the St. Michael's and University of Toronto community. With the music of Rondine's Ensemble, which is composed of young artists from countries at war, Professor Franco Vaccari, President and Founder of Rondine, will introduce three stories of students who are living the experience of Rondine's program.

Program:
- Dr. David Sylvester, University of St. Michael’s College (USMC);
- Dr. Allyson Larkin, King's University College;
- Embassy of Italy/Italian Institute of Culture in Canada (tbc);
- Franco Vaccari, Rondine Cittadella della Pace;
- Rondine Ensemble and testimonies by Rondine students.

A reception in Fr. Madden Hall will follow the program.
