From Dante to Aldus Manutius: The Journey of the Commedia into Print

Hosted by St. Michael’s College, in collaboration with the Dante Society of Toronto and the Italian Cultural Institute of Toronto, this event will feature a lecture by Professor Granata on the printing history of Dante’s Divine Comedy, with particular attention to the pivotal role of Aldus Manutius and his celebrated Aldine Press.

The evening will welcome distinguished guests, including the Mayor of Bassiano (Italy), the birthplace of Aldus Manutius, and the Scientific Representative of the Italian Embassy in Canada and of the Italian Consulate in Toronto. The Dante Society of Toronto will also present three scholarships to University of Toronto students dedicated to the study of Dante.
