Description:

Please join us on Friday, Nov. 8 at 12:15 p.m. in Fr. Madden Hall for a luncheon and special lecture by Fr. James Heft, SM (Marianist). With Dr. Catherine B. Shannon, Fr. Heft will receive an honorary doctorate from the University of St. Michael's College on Nov. 9.

Drawing on his long association with Catholic higher education in the United States, Fr. Heft will present a diagnosis of the current challenges facing Catholic colleges and universities in a talk entitled “Open Circle.” He will describe three ways post-secondary institutions have organized themselves in response to those challenges, and identify three important contemporary challenges that need to be met if Catholic education is to survive in an increasingly secular and pluralistic society.

Please RSVP for Fr. Heft's talk by Wednesday, Nov. 6.
