Description:

Looking to start the year off on a spiritual note? Why not come out to the mini-retreat "Wisdom for Life in Today’s World: Examples Tried and True" being offered by the Sheptytsky Institute? Coptic Orthodox priest John Boutros–who also happens to be an accomplished surgeon–will speak late afternoon on Sunday, Sept. 16 at Windle House, with a pizza supper to follow.

We will then proceed to Elmsley Hall to celebrate the patronal feast of the Sheptytsky Institute Chapel with a vigil in the Byzantine Rite (i.e. Vespers adjoined to Matins); this classic service offers a wonderful initiation into the beauty of Eastern Christian liturgical prayer.

Nourishment for both body and soul!

Itinerary:

4 p.m. Talk by Father John Boutros, St. Moses & St. Katherine Coptic Church
6 p.m. Pizza supper
7 p.m. Vigil for the Feast of St. Sophia & Her Daughters, Faith, Hope and Love
