SMC Career Month

February is Career Month at SMC! Career Month offers a variety of programming aimed to help students at each stage of their undergraduate experience from program selection and enrollment to networking with recent alumni and starting your job search!

Program Enrollment Workshop– Hosted by Academic Advisors in the SMC Registrar’s Office learn more about applying to your programs of interest in the Faculty of Arts & Science, review program enrollment requirements and navigate ACORN together in this virtual session to get you started on your path to your future career.

Diversity Your Degree– Exploring career options starts early at SMC! Hosted by an Academic advisor at SMC and a Career Educator learn more about how to use your time with us at UofT to explore your passions, expand your resume, and build your network!

Graduate Degree Alumni Panel– connect with and learn from SMC Alumni who graduated with undergraduate degrees from the Faculty of Arts and Science and have gone on to graduate studies programs. Learn more about their professional path, academic history, graduate school admissions experience, and advice for new graduates in the field!

Bachelor of Science Alumni Panel– connect with and learn from SMC Alumni who graduated with Bachelor of Science degrees from a variety of programs to learn more about their professional path, academic history and advice for new graduates in the field!

Bachelor of Arts Alumni Panel– connect with and learn from SMC Alumni who graduated with Bachelor of Arts degrees from a variety of programs to learn more about their professional path, academic history and advice for new graduates in the field!

Navigating Career Exploration from an Indigenous Perspective-Learn more about navigating academics and career education with UofT’S Career Education Indigenous Advisor, and Indigenous Learning Strategist to learn about some of the services available to you and making the most of your time with UofT!

Professional Networking with SMC Alumni– Join us for a special night to mingle with SMC alumni currently working in the field after graduating from a variety of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of science programs. Be sure to dress your best for this in person event hosted in collaboration with SMC Alumni, Campus Life and the SMC Office of he Registrar and Student Services.

Develop your Networking Skills-It’s all about who you know! Brush up on your networking skills in an increasingly virtual world connecting with a Career Advisor!

International Student Career Exploration– Connect with an Immigration Advisor and a Career Educator at UofT to help navigate applying for  Post Graduation Work Permit, Applying for jobs, how to start your job search and more!

Accessibility in the Workplace– Hosted by Steven Lapanno Career Educator, Accessibility, talk accommodation disclosure and translating your academic accommodation into to professional accommodations to help you navigate your job search the interview process and landing that dream job!
