Assistant Professor of Ecological Theology and Christian Ethics (tenure-stream)

The Faculty of Theology of the University of St. Michael’s College invites applications for a tenure-stream appointment as Assistant Professor of Ecological Theology and Ethics to begin 1 July 2019.  The ability to teach at least one secondary area—such as Catholic social teaching, feminist theology, religious education, or pastoral theology—is would be welcome. The successful candidate will serve as the Director of Elliott Allen Institute for Theology and Ecology (EAITE), administer the Institute’s Certificate in Theology and Ecology, teach three courses annually for the basic degree programs (MTS, MDiv and MRE), and teach and supervise graduate students through the Graduate Centre in the Toronto School of Theology.

Terms:

Applicants must have a PhD in theological studies (or an equivalent degree) with significant specialization in Ecology and Christian Ethics. Preference will be given to applicants who have at least two years teaching experience at the postsecondary level.  Applicants must also provide evidence of strong performance in teaching as well as some administrative experience.   The application dossier must include evidence of excellence in research publications and strong evidence of a sustainable research agenda.  The successful applicant will be Roman Catholic who is committed to teaching the gamut of the Catholic moral tradition and can support the missions of the EAITE and the University of St Michael’s College.
