    POSITION SUMMARY

    Reporting to the Manager, Housekeeping Services, and working with the Lead Hands, the position is responsible for assuring quality housekeeping services to all campus buildings as assigned, maintaining college standards of cleanliness and undertaking duties in a professional and courteous manner.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Physically capable of operating cleaning equipment without restriction
    • Cleaning furniture (eg. dusting and polishing)
    • Cleaning floors (eg. mopping, sweeping and vacuuming)
    • Cleaning of offices and classrooms
    • Making and changing of residence beds and cleaning of residence rooms
    • Clean and change window drapes
    • Change light bulbs as required
    • Clean washrooms including toilets, urinals, showers, lavatories, mirrors, floors, and fixtures
    • Collection and discarding of garbage and recyclables
    • Washing of windows and walls
    • May be required to move light furniture within rooms
    • Use of laundry machine
    • Perform other job related duties as assigned

    Experience
    Minimum 1-2 years in the cleaning/custodial field

    Education
    High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
    Satisfactory command of the English language is necessary in order to communicate with staff, visitors, students, faculty and co-workers.
