|Further Personal Information:||P.O. Francis Michael Scandiffio is not an alumnus of SMC. However, the Editor felt it was the proper action to include him in this memorial, for like the Breen and Stephen families, the Scandiffio family also lost both sons. The Alumni Association Executive concurred. How could we not include Francis (Frank) in commemorating a young man, who like his brother Thomas, and so many others, gave us their lives in sacrifice so that our world might be a better place.
To anyone of you who might have read military history, his “Bio” appears brief – like their young lives. But it helps complete a picture of sacrifice by so many of our youth of the 1930s-40s. A sacrifice we hope to honour by this Commemoratory Memorial site – when you see them, remember them and keep their spirit living to those who follow.
