A Message from David Mulroney, President and Vice Chancellor, University of St. Michael’s College

Dear members of the St. Michael’s community,

I have been increasingly concerned about the danger posed by traffic on St. Joseph Street. This being the case, we recently asked the Toronto Police Service to visit our campus and assess the situation. They have made a number of visits and are currently conducting a risk assessment. Yesterday evening our concerns were unfortunately confirmed when a University of Toronto student was struck by a vehicle near Kelly Library. She is currently in stable condition and we are praying for her prompt and full recovery. We will continue to work with the Toronto Police Service to think about how we can make our campus safer. Let me in the meantime ask that you use the utmost care when crossing streets on and near campus.

Sincerely,

David Mulroney
President and Vice-Chancellor
