Profile:

Máirtín Coilféir holds a BA and PhD from Trinity College, Dublin and has worked in the National University of Ireland, Galway and University College, Dublin. His research interests include literature, translation, theatre, humour and ethics and his book on Irish-language writer Alan Titley is due for publication this spring. An editor of the academic journal Comhar Taighde, he is currently preparing a 1930s Irish translation ofThe Adventures of Huckleberry Finn for publication. Professor Coilféir teaches the Irish language, modern Irish literature and history, and aspects of the manuscript tradition. Outside of class, he enjoys sport and the outdoors, writing and travelling.
