Common Rooms

Each Residence House has its own common room where students can watch TV, socialize and host house events.

Weight Room

Located in Alumni Hall, the SMC Weight Room has a variety of free weights, workout stations and cardio equipment. To maintain the facility, users are charged a key-card fee ($20 per semester) which can be added to your ROSI account.

Wellness Centre

Located in Elmsley Hall, the SMC Wellness Centre provides a variety of programming including Tai Chi, martial arts, self-defense and more.

Kelly Café

On the main floor of the Kelly Library, the Kelly Café is our campus coffee shop where students can study and socialize with their friends while enjoying Starbucks coffee and a variety of other snacks and beverages. During exam periods, the Café is open 24 hours.

St. Basil’s Church

St. Basil’s is the oldest building in continuous use on the UofT campus. Today the Collegiate church is open to both students and community members as a place to attend Mass, receive the sacraments and participate in a variety of community service projects.

Teefy Study Hall

Located within the Queen’s Park building, the classrooms on the main floor of Teefy are available for residents to use for quiet study during the evenings and overnight periods.

Mike’s Café

Located on the ground floor of Brennan Hall, Mike’s Café is a place to purchase Starbuck’s coffee, snacks and branded SMC clothing and merchandise.

The Quad

Our quad is a popular spot to toss the Frisbee or football, read a book on the park benches or simply lie out on the grass. In the winter the quad becomes home to our winter skating rink! FYI: the statue in the middle of the quad is an abstract depiction of our patron saint, St. Michael the Archangel.

Basketball Half-Court

Located at the north end of the quad, the half-court basketball net is available for use by all SMC students. Basketballs can be signed out at the Porter’s Desk during the summer.

Ping-Pong Table

Donated by the Rotary Club of Toronto, this indestructible concrete table gets plenty of use during the spring and summer months. Paddles and balls can be signed out at the Porter’s Desk.

The Coop Student Lounge

The Student Lounge in Brennan Hall is THE place for students to mix, mingle and socialize. The lounge opens onto a spacious patio for outside activities in the spring, summer and fall.

Porter’s Desk

The Porter’s Desk in Elmsley Hall is where students can go to sign out sports equipment, replace key cards, report residence issues and receive general information. The desk is open 24/7/365.
