Scholarships

Depending on available funding, in-course scholarships are merit-based awards based on a student’s academic performance at the end of their 1st, 2nd and 3rd year.

Spring Graduation Awards – for the June graduating class!

Scholarships are available for graduating students both on merit-based criteria, as well as on an application basis. Please read over the following criteria to determine whether you are eligible to apply for any of these awards.

The Father Henry Carr, CSB, Award

The Father Henry Carr, CSB, Award

Amount: No monetary value

Donor: St. Michael’s College Principal’s Office to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Federation of St. Michael’s College and the University of Toronto.

Purpose: To be awarded to a St. Michael’s College student who has made an outstanding contribution to the University of Toronto in athletics, academics, leadership, or student life. Good academic standing.

Application Deadline: Friday, May 5th, 2017

The Fr. Robert Madden Leadership Awards

Amount: No monetary value

Donor: St. Michael’s College Alumni Association in honour of Father Robert Madden’s many years of service to the College.

Purpose: To be awarded to students who have made significant contributions to the St. Michael’s College community by demonstrating leadership, cooperation and solidarity in student-run organizations or community endeavors.

Application Deadline: Friday, May 5th, 2017

The Marina Santin Award

Amount: $2,400 and a certificate

Donor: The Santin Family, in memory of their daughter, Marina.

Purpose: To be awarded to a woman graduand who has distinguished herself by an active and constructive involvement in the life of the college and who exemplifies the Christian ideals of joyful engagement in life, openness to others, service to the community, and responsible leadership. Good academic record.

Application Deadline: Friday, May 5th, 2017

The Principal’s Medal

Amount: No monetary value

Donor: St. Michael’s College Foundation and the Lynch Family to honour the late Professor E. Lynch’s years of service as principal and professor of the College.

Purpose: To be awarded to a student who has made a distinctive contribution to life at the college, who has upheld the practice of Catholicism proper to a university community, and who has participated fully in college life. Excellent academic record (minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average).

Application Deadline: Friday, May 5th, 2017

The Sir Bertram C.A. Windle Graduate Scholarship

Amount: $2,000

Donor: The Sir Bertram C.A. Windle Trust Fund

Purpose: To be awarded to a student with an excellent academic record and who will be entering a liberal arts graduate program at the University of Toronto in the September following graduation.

Application Deadline: Friday, May 5th, 2017

The W.B. Dunphy Medal

Amount: No monetary value

Donor: The Dunphy Family to honour the late Professor William Dunphy who served as College Principal from 1980- 1991.

Purpose: To be awarded to a student who has been most successful in combining very good academic achievement with sustained commitment to volunteer service in the wider community. Minimum 3.3 cumulative grade point average.

November Graduation Awards

Attention – Prospective Graduands of November – if you have been active on campus, contributed beyond the classroom, been engaged in student or campus life; and/or volunteered during your time here, you might be eligible to apply for a Father Robert Madden Leadership Award. Stay tuned for further information and the Application Form for November 2017 graduands.
