Success! Our week long spring clothing drive was indeed a great effort from all staff and students who donated items with great generosity. In total, we collected over 50 bags of clothing, over 40 winter coats, and a total of close to 1000 items.
A great big thank you to our campus ministry office, especially our campus ministers and student core leaders, who assisted throughout the week in collecting and sorting the gathered items. Also, for their commitment this morning in ensuring that many local shelters in our SMC community are provided the necessary clothing for their members. All donated clothing will be delivered throughout the week to the following organizations:
- Sanctuary Ministries on Charles Street
- Good Shepherd Ministries on Queen Street
- Sojourn House in Moss Park
- Good Neighbour’s Club on Jarvis Street
- Our sponsored Syrian Refugee family
Let us continue to work together as a community of faith in order to ensure that the most vulnerable and poor in our SMC community are always provided for. We do this in faith, but also in response to our Catholic Social Teachings, most notably, the responsibility for the poor and the call to ensure that the inherent dignity of all people is lived and practiced. May God continue to bless you and the St. Michael College community.
