Mary Ward Week 2024 – January 23-30

From January 23 to 30, IBVM Canada | Loretto Sisters joyfully observe Mary Ward Week, a special time when the global Mary Ward family comes together to honour our beloved foundress. The week begins on her birthday, January 23 (1585), and concludes on the anniversary of her death, January 30 (1645). Mary Ward’s life is a testament to unwavering faith, love, and empowerment. This annual week serves as a celebration of her enduring legacy and the community is invited to participate in Mary Ward Week activities.
Loretto College is continuing its annual tradition of the Formal dinner during Mary Ward Week. We appreciate the collaboration with USMC to maintain our long-standing traditions. There’s also a special on-line Mary Ward Day Mass from Loretto Abbey Chapel
The Mass will air on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 (can be viewed on YouTube anytime after 5:00am EST)
Our General Leader, Sr Carmel Swords IBVM is the lector and Cardinal Thomas Collins is the presider.
