Relevant Talk Series: Acknowledging Our Past: Truth and Reconciliation

November 17, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm EST

Through the discovery of the graves at residential schools over this year, there has been a renewed interest in the history of residential schools, and the need for reconciliation between Indigenous people and non-Indigenous people. This is all the more important for Catholics, given the role that the Church played in the history of residential schools.

Join St. Barnabas Parish for their final Relevant Talk of the semester on Wednesday, November 17 from 7 to 8:30. St. Michael’s alumna Andrea Carandang will speak on the history of residential schools, its legacy, and the actions that Catholics (and all Canadians) can take to work towards reconciliation.

Andrea worked with Prof. Reid Locklin to develop the Treaty Learning website and shared an InsightOut reflection earlier this year.
