Undergraduate Travel Awards at St. Michaels’ College

Through the Office of the Principal at the University of St. Michael’s College, students have the opportunity to apply for support of educational travel. Award recipients are selected on the basis of academic merit and feasibility, and where relevant, the Office of the Principal will seek assessment and advice from faculty members and Fellows at the College and in related departments and programs in the Faculty of Arts and Science. Preference is given to projects directly related to the students’ program of study.

Applicants must be full-time undergraduates enrolled in St. Michael’s College, an SMC One or FYF course, and/or Specialists, Majors, or Minors in one of St. Mike’s four sponsored programs (Book & Media Studies, Celtic Studies, Christianity & Culture and Mediaeval Studies).

Applications are accepted and assessed in the following two periods during the academic year:

  • Fall 2019: September 23 to November 22
  • Winter 2020: January 20 to April 15

Depending on the need and merit of the applications, grants range from $500 to $1,000. Successful applicants should expect 3-4 weeks for grants to be processed and appear in their ACORN account.
