The University of St. Michael’s College provides a variety of spaces for nearly every type of event. You will find more information about available rooms below. Our spaces include set-seating theatres, comfortable lounges and flexible banquet and lecture space.

    Alumni 100 is a large theatre space perfect for lectures, presentations and guest appearances. This space is the largest theatre at St. Michael’s College and features comfortable seating for up to 284 guests and the option of a full AV set up.

    AV Equipment:

    Alumni 100 features a “Smart Classroom” unit in-house that can be rented for an additional fee. The unit contains:

    • In-Unit Computer
    • All Required Cables

    Alumni 400 is a medium sized theatre spaces perfect for lectures, presentations and guest appearances. This space is the second theatre at St. Michael’s College and features comfortable seating for up to 198 guests and the option of a full AV set-up.

    Charbonnel Lounge is one of the most beautiful event spaces at the University of St. Michael’s College. Charbonnel Lounge often hosts lectures, workshops and formal dinners. This space features a wonderful ambiance and two entrances leading out to our garden patio. Our patio can also be booked for your event and is included in the room charge.

    AV Equipment:

    Charbonnel Lounge does not include any internal AV equipment. A wide selection of AV equipment rentals can be purchased through our “AV Equipment” section below.

    Father Madden Hall enjoys the ambiance of the early 20th century. A variety of events have been hosted in the Hall from lectures and workshops to formal dinners.

    Located just off St. Joseph Street, this room is conveniently located close to the Alumni Hall parking lot, the “Quad” green space, and several classrooms. Classrooms can be booked as additional breakout space for between $60-$110 +tax per room.

    AV Equipment:

    Father Madden Hall features an in-house sound system that can hold up to two microphones. Both lapel and handheld microphones are available. The internal sound system can be rented for an additional fee, and additional AV equipment can be purchased through our “AV Equipment” section below.

    Sam Sorbara Auditorium is one of the largest and most versatile spaces at St. Michael’s College. This space is perfect for lectures, formal dinners and conference workshops. Please note that during the school year Sam Sorbara can only be set up in a “classroom” style.

    AV technicians can be requested through the Conference Services Department. There is a minimum call-in of four hours for all events.

    The Senior Common Room is one of the more intimate spaces at St. Michael’s. This room is an excellent option for smaller groups looking for workshops, lecture spaces or smaller formal dinners.

    AV Equipment:

    The Senior Common Room does not include any internal AV equipment. A wide selection of AV equipment rentals can be purchased through our “AV Equipment” section below.

  • AV Equipment

    Renting audiovisual equipment is a necessity for most events. This guide will help you determine your AV needs and how to go about selecting your equipment.

     

    Your Event:

    What type of event are you hosting? This is the key question to think about when selecting equipment. For lectures, consider the type of presentation your speakers will be giving. Will they being using PowerPoint? Are you expecting high attendance in a large room? Does your speaker tend to pace across the stage, or remain stationary at the podium? Will you be inviting guests to ask questions?

    AV Equipment Specifications:

    Consider the specifications of the equipment you need. If you would like to have microphones, you need to make sure that a sound system is either ordered for your event or included in the room. Likewise, if you are planning a computer presentation, you will need a data projector and screen.

    Regarding computers, guests are welcome to bring their own or rent one through Conference Services. If you are bringing your own computer, you will need to make sure it has a regular HDMI port so that it can be connected to a data projector. Apple products in particular may require additional cables.
