    Qualifications:

     

     

    MA required. In accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 4 Collective Agreement, Article 15.07, preference in hiring will be given to graduate students whose disciplinary study and research specializations align closely with the focus of this course. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.

    Advising students, grading assignments, leading tutorials, and participating in some online discussions and activities.

    Course description: Introduces the academic study of media in all its forms, including books and print media as well as modern electronic and digital media. Provides an overview of key theories of media, culture, and society and relates them to contemporary issues, enabling students to apply different critical approaches to their everyday experiences with media.

    Salary: $47.63 per hour + 4% vacation pay
    Estimated course enrolment: 150 students per term
    Size of appointment: 212-318 hours per position
    Class schedule: Wednesdays, 1PM – 3PM; consult UofT timetable for full tutorial schedule.
    Delivery mode: In-person.
    Dates of appointment: August 26, 2024, – May 10, 2025.
