Overview
The Continuing Education Division of the University of St. Michael’s College is seeking proposals from qualified marketing and recruitment specialists with demonstrated experience in higher education to assist in the development of a strategic and operational marketing plan and practical outreach tactics for a set of Continuing Education professional programs.
The Division is in a period of renewal requiring Division and program level marketing and recruitment strategies. The professional programs are designed for adult learners seeking reskilling and upskilling opportunities in specific industries. The audiences range from local Toronto and Ontario to national and international individuals and groups. The strategies should employ a blend of marketing assets and channels as well as professional, academic and ecumenical spaces to increase awareness and enrolment. The successful candidate will bring insight into adult education, learner recruitment strategies, digital engagement, and values-based brand positioning.
Please note that this is a short contract of approximately one to two months.
Programs Requiring Promotion
The specialist will support marketing efforts for the following non-credit program areas:
- Diploma in Interfaith Dialogue
- Social Impact Measurement Professional Certificate
- Understanding the social implications of climate change micro credential
- Diploma in Social Responsibility and Sustainability
- Diploma in Catholic Leadership (in development)
Scope of Work
The consultant will be responsible for:
- Conducting a market scan and needs assessment including current strategies to identify target audiences and channels
- Developing a comprehensive marketing and recruitment strategy and recommended operational plan
- Recommending practical tactics for program-based marketing
- Advising on messaging that reflects the institution’s mission and values
- Supporting content development for print, web, and social media
- Providing a timeline and metrics to track campaign performance
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in marketing for post-secondary or continuing education programs
- Understanding of mission-based education, social justice, social responsibility, and faith-based initiatives
- Understanding of professional learning, upskilling/reskilling, and adult education markets
- Understanding of how to recruit business and organizational leaders for executive education
- Expertise in adult learner recruitment and digital marketing strategies
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
