A Look Back at a Fruitful Orientation Week

St. Michael’s spirit was on full display at this year’s Orientation, which ran from August 26-August 30. Over the course of the week, the incoming class was introduced to the campus through a variety events and activities.

This year’s lineup included several new events, including a battle of the bands concert at Hart House, an international festival of clubs and performances, tie-dying bandanas, silent disco, The Amazing Race scavenger hunt, puppy yoga, an international student panel and a formal at the ROM.

“I registered for the formal so that I will have a chance to meet people from other colleges. I’m excited to dress up and it being held at the museum will be interesting,” said Madeline Perret who is majoring in physics.

Puppy yoga was among the new events offered at this year’s orientation.

Orientation week was open to all incoming St. Michael’s students, including international students, transfer students, commuter students and students living in residence. The programming was designed to make students aware of all that St. Mike’s has to offer, including student services, facilities and clubs.

“I want to get a better understanding of where I’m going for university and have a chance to look around the campus and get more familiar with the people around me,” said Beatrice Ciulu, a life sciences student.
