Petitions Guide

The Petitions Guide has been prepared to help you understand petitions and appeals, the petitions process, the Faculty of Arts & Science’s expectations of you, and the reasoning behind the answers students get in response to their different requests.

Verification of Student Illness or Injury Form

“The Verification of Student Illness or Injury” is the official University of Toronto form for all students who are requesting special academic consideration based on illness or injury.

Transfer Credit and Letter of Permission

The Transfer Credit Office in the Faculty of Arts and Science processes requests for transfer credit on admission and post admission. The Office also processes requests for Letters of Permission and transfer credit for outgoing exchange students.

Graduation Eligibility and Confirmation Letters

Students can request a letter from the Faculty of Arts & Science confirming your intent to graduate, your eligibility to graduate, or your graduation.

Examinations

Information concerning U of T examinations, with links to timetables, rules of conduct, and tips for both exam preparation and avoiding exam offences.

Exam Copy or Viewing Request

Students may request photocopies or a free supervised viewing of Arts and Science faculty final examinations written on the St. George campus within the last six months.

ACORN

Course Descriptions

Calendar course descriptions are sometimes required by other institutions as part of your transfer credit assessment. Course descriptions are issued by the University of Toronto Transcript Centre, and can be requested online.

If you require a course syllabus, please contact the sponsoring program department as these are not issued by the University of Toronto Transcript Centre.

Confirmation of Enrolment Letter

A Confirmation of Enrolment letter is an official document that verifies your status as a student at University of Toronto. Standard letters are available for download in PDF format via ACORN by visiting the Transcripts & Enrolment Confirmation page.

This letter is intended for, but not limited to, the following purposes: Study permits / visa applications, RESPs or bank loan(s), Employment purposes, Insurance / benefits purposes, Legal or court-related matters.
