To support a student registered at the University of St. Michael’s College, who enters a full time university program after being out of school for not less than 10 years, and has not previously completed a university degree, who in the opinion of the USMC, comes closest to attaining the excellence mentioned in the award, taking into account financial need, history of the student, academic standing and commitment to learning as a means of self improvement. Eligible candidates can have previously attended and/or completed a community college program or the Academic Bridging Program. The student who wins the award in any year is eligible to be the winner in any other given year.
