The candidate must have a good academic record (minimum 3.5 CGPA). The W. B. Dunphy Medal — Established in honour of Professor William B. Dunphy (1926-1998), who served as St. Michael’s College Principal from 1980 to 1991. To be awarded to an SMC graduand who has been most successful in combining good academic achievement with sustained commitment to volunteer service in the wider community (minimum 3.3 CGPA). The Marina Santin Award (Up to $1600) — Established in memory of alumna Marina Santin (class of 1993) by her parents who are also St Mike’s alumni. To be awarded to a woman SMC graduand who has distinguished herself by an active and constructive involvement in the life of the College and who exemplifies the Christian ideals of joyful engagement in life, openness to others, service to the community, and responsible leadership. Good academic standing (minimum 3.3 CGPA). The Fr. Robert Madden Leadership Awards — Named for Fr. Robert Madden C.S.B. a revered St. Michael’s professor, scholar and counsellor. To be awarded to SMC graduands who have made significant contributions to the SMC community by demonstrating leadership, cooperation and solidarity in student-run organizations or community endeavours. The Fr. Henry Carr, CSB, Award — Established in honour of Fr. Henry Carr C.S.B. who served as President at St. Michael’s from 1915-1925 and was a champion for Catholic post-secondary education. To be awarded to an SMC graduand who has made an outstanding contribution to the SMC/University of Toronto communities in athletics, academics, leadership, or student life. Good academic standing is required (minimum 3.3 CGPA). The Sir Bertram C.A. Windle Graduate Scholarship (minimum $2,000) — To be awarded to an SMC graduand who will be entering a liberal arts graduate program at the University of Toronto in the September following graduation. USMC Young Alumni Award (2 awards available Approx. $400 each) — To be awarded to a SMC graduand with demonstrated involvement and leadership at USMC, in the U of T community, and in the local community that encompasses the values to USMC, including volunteerism, contribution to student life, and spirit of inclusiveness (encouraging others to get involved). The Khoury Memorial Fund Award in Medicine (Up to $2500) — Established in 1968, the purpose of the award is to assist an outstanding SMC graduand, who wishes to pursue studies at The University of Toronto’s Temerty Faculty of Medicine in September 2025. *Note: Please still apply if you have not yet received an offer of admission from the Faculty of Medicine. Please only select the awards to which you meet the criteria for. Please highlight SMC activities. iv) Optional- a photo of yourself (preferably at USMC) and a brief paragraph (no more than 500 words) of life lessons, memorable moments or experiences at USMC.
