St. Michael’s Residence Council

The SMRC is comprised of three executives: 

  • President 
  • Vice President 
  • Treasurer 

As well as three Individual Councilor positions: 

  • Dean’s Cup Coordinator 
  • Communications Officer 
  • Events Coordinator 

Students interested in running for the SMRC are required to complete the appropriate nomination form. In order to be nominated, a candidate must collect the signatures of 10 current residents. Completed nomination forms must be submitted to the Chief Returning Officer (CRO) before the All-Candidates Meeting on Sunday, March 27th, 2022 from 8-9 PM. If you were unable to join us for the SMRC Information Session on March 15th, please take a look at the recording of the session for important information on how to run in the spring election:

The All-Candidates Meeting is where the CRO will discuss the campaign rules and postering policies. All individuals who are running in the SMRC election are required to attend. Candidates may not begin campaigning until the conclusion of this meeting when their candidacy has been officially confirmed by the Chief Returning Officer (CRO). For any questions, please contact the CRO, who is noted in the Nomination Package.

Important Dates 2022: 

  • Nominations: Tuesday, March 15th – Sunday, March 27th 
  • All-Candidates Meeting: March 27th at 8pm (Nomination Packages Due) 
  • Campaigning: Tuesday, March 29th – Sunday, April 3rd 
  • Voting: Monday, April 4th – Sunday, April 10th 

Note: You must be living at St. Michael’s College Residence to hold a position on the SMRC.
